Description

This monument was dedicated on July 4, 1964 during Shamokin's centennial anniversary to comemmorate the life and presidency of John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 - November 22, 1963).

Mrs. Marlene Laboskie, chairman of the fundraising committee and Mrs. George M. Rhodes, wife of the Congressman and special representative to Mrs. John F. Kennedy unveiled the monument in front of a large crowd.  

Former Congressman George M. Rhodes delivered the principle address. He saluted the Juniorettes for their public service to the community.

The monument was blessed by the Rev. George Lavelle, former pastor of St. Edwards Church.
