Anna Nitschmann (1715-1760), called 'Caritas', was born in Kunewalde, Moravia. She became congregational eldress in Herrnhut at the age of 14 (1730), organized the single sisters' choir in Herrnhut, traveled to Pennsylvania with her father (1740), traveled with Zinzendorf through Pennsylvania, returns to Europe (1743), she was 'Mother of the Church' (1746-1756), and general eldress of all the single sisters. She was Zinzendorf's closest coworker with the the title 'Jüngerin ́ (disciple) (since Dec. 1756) and she became his 2nd wife in 1757. She died in Herrnhut.
